Pat Caracciolo
Owner of “Pat the Dog”, Pat has been a professional animal trainer for over 30 years and he is known as one of the most diversified animal behavior and training consultants in his field. He has worked with a variety of species of marine mammals including killer whales, dolphins, sea lions and polar bears, a variety of exotic birds including parrots and the majestic American bald eagle. Pat often lectures at schools, training clinics, etc. He has also appeared many times with animals on a variety of national radio and television shows.
After 16 years as an animal trainer at SeaWorld parks in Cleveland, San Antonio and Orlando, Pat started “Pat The Dog” Training and Behavior consulting in St. Louis. He also worked as a consultant for The Ralston Purina Pet Care Center, managing the training and husbandry for over 1,000 dogs and cats.
He then moved back to the central Florida area and started “Pat the Dog” Training and Behavior consulting again. In 2004, Pat was given the opportunity to join the Pet Stop team as a distributor.
In 2012, Pat purchased Furry Paws Pet Resort in Groveland, Florida now called “Pat the Dog Pet Resort”. As the new owner, Pat has invested in a complete remodel of the facilities including changing out all of the pet kennels to stainless steel state-of-the-art (Mason Sani-Kennels ™) as well new floors and grooming equipment. Pat continues to use his expertise to provide a fun and safe training and pet care facility for the Central Florida area. Pat is on the Board of Directors of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce incoming chair. He’s also Chair of the Board of Directors for Pig on the Pond (Project Scholars). As well a past chair of South Lake Business Leaders as well member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of America.
In 2019, Pat the Dog won the “Best of South Lake” Animal Services award as well Pat has recently been honored for his philanthropic efforts and recognized as a “Ann Dupee Gem of the Hills” award recipient.
